Helping municipalities get the most out of their digital assets
Our clients include several towns and cities throughout Vermont. We train municipal staff on website management, security, and other best practices, assist with maintenance and updates for existing websites, and develop new websites.
Training
In 2014, we partnered with the Snelling Center for Government to train towns and cities around the state to use their websites and content management systems as part of the Vermont Digital Economy Project led by the Vermont Council on Rural Development. The goal of the overall project was to leverage a $1.8M federal disaster relief grant from the Economic Development Administration to help Vermont communities improve their digital infrastructure, including their ability to respond to future emergencies.
By the conclusion of the project, we’d trained staff for 11 of the 25 cities and towns that the Snelling Center was working with.
Support
We provide ongoing support for many of the municipalities included in the Digital Economy Project as well as other municipal clients that we connected with independently. Our support includes routine updates and maintenance, backups, email administration, new feature implementation, security measures and monitoring, and supplemental training.
Development
We have independently designed and developed websites for the towns of Pawlet and Middletown Springs.
We also designed and developed a municipal business portal for Rutland that launched in 2016 as part of a grant through the Small Business Administration’s national Start Up in a Day initiative. The portal is designed to make it easier for Rutland businesses to operate, grow, and contribute more to the local economy. Users can register an account and submit required permits, licenses, and payment online or download PDF copies to fill out offline. Online applications can be digitally reviewed and approved by the City. Read more about the portal in this article from VTDigger.
Overall, we’ve worked with over sixteen Vermont towns and cities.
